Sara Lanzarote

SARA are a registered charity dedicated to the care of stray, abandoned and mistreated dogs and cats in Lanzarote. Housing from 150 dogs and 70 cats at any one time all under the care of only 5 members of staff and 1 vet, they rely entirely on donations and volunteers to keep the shelter open and the animals cared for. It costs €500 a day to keep the shelter open and raising funds is a mammoth task. Sara do not receive any government funding. They have a strict no-kill policy and every animal is looked after in the shelter until a suitable home can be found.
